We’re the founders of Isla Mujeres Elopements—and the ones who will be guiding you through this entire experience.
We live here on the island and have spent years helping couples create intimate, meaningful wedding days that feel natural, effortless, and truly personal.
Over time, what started as photography and officiating naturally grew into something more—because we saw how many couples were looking for a simpler, more intentional way to get married, but didn’t know where to begin.
This guide is here to make the process feel easy and inspiring, and to help you start imagining what your own day here could look like.

Best Time of Year to Elope
The time of year you choose shapes the entire experience.
In general, October through May is when Isla Mujeres feels its best—warm, sunny, and ideal for a relaxed, comfortable wedding day. Within that window, each month has its own feel.
January through March are especially ideal. Days are warm and beautiful, evenings cool slightly, and the humidity stays low —some of the most comfortable conditions of the year.
As you move into April and May, the weather begins to shift. Temperatures rise and humidity increases, but these months are still wonderful—especially if you love warmer, tropical days.
June through September is when the island changes the most. This is the rainy season, with the potential for longer downpours, along with very high heat and humidity. It’s also hurricane season, which is why we pause during this time and close our doors.
October is one of our favorite months. While it can still bring occasional rain, the beaches are less crowded, and the ocean is incredibly warm.
November and December are also beautiful—perfect daytime temperatures, cooler evenings, and a relaxed, comfortable feel.
If your schedule allows, choosing the right season makes all the difference in how your day feels.
Legal vs Symbolic Ceremonies
The ceremonies we offer are spiritual and symbolic—designed to reflect your relationship and the love you share.
No legal documents are signed during your ceremony, and we do not offer legal weddings in Mexico.
The legal process here is quite involved, with multiple documents, translations, and in-person requirements.
For that reason, most couples choose to complete the legal portion at home and then have a meaningful, personalized ceremony here on Isla Mujeres—keeping the experience simple, relaxed, and focused on what truly matters.
